About the event
The holiday season is upon us and with them comes a unique set of challenges. Our emotions can be overtaxed through demanding expectations and family dynamics, which add a new layer of stress to our lives. We feel pressured to overindulge in foods that are bodies struggle to fully utilize and digest. Combined with shorter days, cooler weather, and the stresses of the cold and flu seasons we can become quite overwhelmed. Fortunately there are natural choices to support our resiliency during the holidays and fully enjoy the season. During this talk we will be discussing using foods, herbs, and lifestyle strategies to cope with emotional stress, support healthy digestion, keep our immune systems resilient and bodies feeling warm.
Jay Wolkoff, MS, a certified state nutritionist specializing in integrative and functional medicine, will be leading this presentation. He graduated summa cum laude with a Masters of Science degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, and holds a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition/Dietetics from the University of New Haven. In Addition to currently studying the effective applications of herbs, Jay is an organic gardener, passionate practitioner of regenerative agriculture practitioner, who is also dedicated to yoga and mind-body therapies.
